Snake boat heading to Cocobay resort in Kumarakom
The Cocobay resort is in the heart of Kumarakom in kerela. It is an outstanding resort offering a picturistique view of Vembenad lake and backwaters of Kerala.
It’s one of the most popular resorts offering a unique feature of its location and serene atmosphere with views of Vembenad lake. We had planned to stay here for two days in our long trip to Kerala and ended up wishing for a weeks stay (which was not possible).

The most intresting and enriching part of the stay was the entrance itself. As we parked our car , we were in for a pleasant surprise of hotel transfer by boat. We were thrilled as we kept our baggage in a small boat. It actually felt like Venice and I realized why Kerela is called “Venice of east”. As we got down , we were welcomed by traditional garlands and Tilak on our foreheads.
We went with kids to play in the garden area besides swimming pool. It was a nice view and we had snacks in the open resturant area.In the evening we quietly saw a beautiful mesmerizing view of sunset in Vembenad lake. This was followed by buffet dinner in the resturant in resort itself.

The staff was attentive and up to the mark. They took special care of the kids. It was a memorable experience to see vast lake from the reception area itself.
We had our breakfast in the resort and left for a day’s excurtion to see various species of birds. It’s a treat for bird watchers and nature lovers.We went for our boat ride in Vebenad lake. We also vent for Kalari Payattu and Kathakalli show in evening as a part of Day’s excurtion in Kumarakom , which is rich in it’s culture and heritage.

Ambience of Cocobay resort
Ambience of resort is outstanding. The resort offers amazing views and rooms are clean with up to the mark service. Sunset cruises are also available but we did not take one since we loved the view from the resort itself. At the entrance, there is a garden area with swings around. A little ahead,irresistible swimming pool lures to swim. Walk way for the restaurant is there. Then there is a spa and yoga center which one can enjoy. There is open space for yoga overlooking the lake with which it can be more effective.
I would certainly recommend all to visit this place if one wants to enjoy serene view of Vembenad lake and backwaters of Kerela from the comforts of the resort itself.

I am from Kerala and have visit Kumarakom before… but honestly didn’t know such a nice hotel existed there.
Will make sure to check it out.
But next time you and your family decided to visit Kumarakom, I do recommend that you take a cruise on the waters… it’s really beautiful.
The food abroad the boats might give you issues though… gotta be careful about that 🙂
We took a boat cruise in Kumarakom but yes without food. Food was included in House boat in Allepy
