Cultural performance by artists

Indonesia has been on my list of destinations to visit in the near future. When I came to know about the destination update happening in Le Meridien, I was excited to attend the same. I wanted to hear to Mr. Taufik Nurhidayat, Deputy Director of Familiarization Trip for Asia Pacific Promotion from the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) Indonesia.

When I reached, there were booth tables laid down to provide destination updates, DMCs and hospitality businesses like Accor Hotels, Sun lake hotels etc. Mr. Taufik shared the updates on destination. He mentioned , India is a holds strong potential for Indonesia Tourism.He said,  MoT is targeting 350,000 Indian visitor arrivals in 2016.  Indonesia had 262,000 visitors in 2015. The visa free entry to Indonesia will act as a catalyst to increase these numbers. 

Although the MoT is aware of challenges associated with the absence of direct flight. Inspite of the lack of direct flight, there are many tourists from India to Indonesia. So, it is hopeful that with the probable opening of Mumbai – Jakarta / Bali route, by Garuda Indonesia, the national airline of Indonesi, there would be more movement from India to Indonesia.

Later the Ambassador of Indonesia joint the conference and addressed the media. He proudly announced about the UNWTO Award in Innovation in Public Policy and Governance at the 12th UNWTO Awards Ceremony which was held in conjunction with the Madrid International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR / IFEMA) in Madrid, Spain, 20thJanuary 2016. This was won by theBanyuwangi Regency in East Java Province. There were many note prestigious awards that were won by Garuda Indonesia, North Bali and more.

Wonderful Indonesia tourism is deploying all means and ways to lure Indian tourists.They also participated at South Asia Tourism and Travel Expo (SATTE) at the Pragati Maidan, Delhi.
India is the ninth major market for Indonesia.
