Much talked Orchard Palace in the movie Hum Dil De Chike Sanam and also movie Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo was constantly raising my curiosity to visit it. We had to travel good 40-50 kms to be able to reach Orchard Palace from Rajkot. But it was worth visiting. Once we entered the grand location, it was all surrounded with gardens. Moving further was a garage and what?

Was it a garage or a Royal parking lot? Oh my gosh, some 50 cars were parked there.

Cars that were from around the world’s London, France, USA. All high end luxury cars. As always, I was again transported to the dream world of royal era. Wow! What life it was for them. Ultra luxurious!

Next was the turn of another pleasant surprise luxury train. I just held my breath as I have never been in Maharaja Express.

Oh lovely interiors and royal setting. A nicely organized kitchen was at the entrance followed by a bath room followed by a dining room which was lavishly set with a dining table for two with a bar table.

All this provided a fair idea about the living style of the Royal family. Then I entered the palace.

Although the palace is not as big as Amer or Hawa Mahal. I was more reminded of Vijay Vilas Palace in Mandvi. There was a grand exotic setting in the drawing room with expensive carpets, curtains, sofas, mirrors and animals skin.

This had a huge verandah overlooking gardens. There was nice and sophisticated setting in verandah. Flight of stairs took to another similar setting of a drawing room. There was a bedroom as well followed by another verandah.
