Kerala Tourism introduces Caravan Tourism- Keravan Kerala

‘Keravan Kerala’ isn’t this an intriguing phrase? Well, State Tourism Director Shri V R Krishna Teja announced a novel product- Caravan Tourism in Kerala- ‘Keravan Kerala’ in the press conference held in New Delhi on 8th of March at Shangrila Hotel.

Post Pandemic, people over the world are tired of sitting at home. Many tourists now want to travel to domestic destinations. A humongous opportunity is there for domestic tourism in India. In the new normal, people want to have a safe, luxurious, secluded as well as an exciting vacation. Kerala provides it all. Mr. Teja said that Keravan Kerala is a promising product and many players have been engaged in the same. This product is going to be customized as per Indian taste. 150+ people have registered for 350 Caravans and about 90 people have registered for bringing up 120 parks.

Based on my discussion with Mr. Teja, there is a lot of focus on Adventure tourism and also a strong focus on promoting Kerala as a wedding destination. New products like ‘Change Of Air’, ‘Drivacation’ are few more feathers to the cap of Kerala Tourism. While Kerala remains the chosen destination for wellness, luxury, houseboats, hill station beauty , back waters , beach holidays, these new products are already making noise in the market.

There were also questions around about the cooking of food, Chauffer driven or self driven Caravans. To these questions, Mr. Krishna said that the small Caravans, self driven could be there but for big Caravans, Chauffers will be provided. Plus it would also depend from Caravan to Caravan the cooking can be self as well as provided. Things will evolve further with time.
