International Travel

Travel can be personal or frequent business travel. After having successfully planned for your trip, its time to ensure your perfect health. This will not only elate your spirits but also leave you with pleasant memorable precious moments. There are pre boarding and boarding precautions to be taken while flying which I have written in my other article. Here are quick tips for you to stay fit during your trip and have a healthy travel.

  1. Consult doctor for vaccinations at least 6 weeks ahead if travelling internationally. Some vaccinations need time to react in body
  2. Medical insurance is required as per the country of travel
  3. Have medical and dental check ups to prepare for medicines to be taken along
  4. Drink only bottled water of a branded company and at least 8-10 glasses per day
  5. Consume only piping hot soups and food. Well cooked hot food doesn’t have bacteria. Consuming cold food items can cause infections. Food should be consumed at least 3 hours before you sleep
  6. Beware while bathing in lakes and rivers. Consult local authorities to avoid any mishap before diving in natural water.
  7. If bathing in natural waters, apply cream before hand. Take antiseptic body wash post bath in natural waters
  8. Keep yourself adequately hydrated. This will help wash out bad bacteria and prevent diarrhoea
  9. If country visiting is of increased mosquito borne diseases, apply the mosquito repellent creams and use nets at night
  10. Do not board overcrowded transport and visit crowded places as it increases the chances of infection
  11. Carry along prescribed medicines and other medicines for stomach infection, cold and cough, diarrhoea, pain, anti allergants , antiseptic ointments, hand wipes and sanitizers
  12. It is advisable to carry your favourite healthy filling snack. This will help you not get deprived if you don’t get your choice of food to eat
  13. Commit to your workout routine for minimum 20 mins. This will keep you fresh throughout the day
  14. Last but not the least sleep adequately. This will keep you alert and avoid any oedema in the body
