Entrance at Cafe on 3

Cafe on 3 is an all day dining restaurant in Hotel Holiday Inn in Mayur Vihar. It is named Cafe on 3 being located on the third floor. We were there last weekend for lunch. We knew about Mediterranean Cuisine launch there and were curious to taste it. Every month, there is some or the other international cuisine festival at Holiday Inn for 10 days. Currently, Mediterranean cuisine festival is till 25th January,2015

Ambience

As we entered the Cafe, a sophisticated ambience greeted us with lobby overlooking a swimming pool.

Going further was a waiting area beyond which was the bar and lounge followed by restaurant. Bar had nice interiors with smart seatings.

At the restaurant,strategic placement of seating arrangement, tables along with buffet tables , sweet counters and bread counters enhanced the ambience of restaurant.

Restaurant also has an open dining area along the pool side where Sunday brunches are organized. Sitting in open area on the third floor by the pool having lip smacking dishes would be a nice experience in itself.

Non vegetarian salads

We took the overview of the restaurant. There was a lavish spread of vegetarian and non vegetarian salads. Small cups of salad were laid containing little cubes of fruits and vegetables precisely decorated with green leaves. The whole display was very enticing.

Indian snacks

Moving ahead, chaat counter or Indian snacks section was luring by its mouthwatering dishes like dhokla, khandvi, raita etc.

Beyond chaat counter was a section having the theme of ‘make your own salad’ with three types of sauces, dressings, raw vegetables, sprouts and spices etc.

We saw live Rotisserie in Holiday Inn kitchen. Everything was being prepared live in front. This roasted chicken is served with herbs, spices, onions and chutney making it a delectable dish. This was one of the specialities that I saw.

There was live pizza oven. Pizza is totally homemade from scratch.

Oriental Cuisine

Further were buffet tables having eight non vegetarian and twelve vegetarian dishes including Indian,  continental, Chinese and mediterranean cuisines. All dishes looked awesome.

Breads and sweets counter was inviting displaying mouthwatering dishes. We just loved the sight. It clearly showed the hard work and innovations of Executive Chef Tanmoy Mazumdar and his team.

We could see the personal attention given by the Food and Beverage Manager,Mr.Rohit.

Food

Gobhi Manchurian and Noodles

First we had Lebanese Cuisine including Hummus, Lavna, Tabule,Kalamete Olives,Pita bread. This was awesome to taste. Then was turn of Khumb akhrot shammi kebab. This was finger licking. We also had Gilafi seek kebab, Murgh Malai tikka. Both kebabs were very soft and juicy with appropriate blend of spices and other ingredients. Fried eggplant and chicken pizza that we tried later were luscious.

Was there any more capacity in our stomachs for main course? No of course. We however, tasted rice, kurkuri bhindi. There was not a single dish that we tasted and could stop eating.

In desserts, there was a variety of cakes like carrot cake, puddings, Indian sweets etc. Some of them were sugar free. We tried chocolate cake, malpua. Everything we had was palatable.

Gilafi Seekh Kebab and Murgh Malai Tikka

Impeccable and prompt service was provided to us. Staff was friendly while being professional. We appreciated the courtesy and conduct of the staff.

Overall, a great experience. Hurry to taste the Mediterranean food! The restaurant worth visiting to experience a dine out. True value for money.
