We stayed for one night at Formule1, Gurgaon by Accor Hotels. We were pre informed that its a Rest Assured hotel providing real value of stay combined with quality service and comfort. We were told that it is the hotel brand to fill the void between luxury and convenience.

Reception

Indeed this was so true! The Formule1 was designed smartly keeping the new age traveller’s comfort and convenience in consideration, the hotel caters to the ‘cost-conscious’ generation.

Situated in the very well-connected Gurgaon in Good Earth City Centre Mall, this hotel is highly visible from road and easily accessible.

Dining area

It was a crisp entrance with a lounge in front welcomed by reception. Moving further were sections of dining areas to suit different needs of different diners. It was interesting to see a casual dining area partitioned in three sections- private dining, easy dining and big dining which was the biggest area for dining. Opposite this section was buffet section along with vending machines.

As we proceeded to elevators for our room’s floor , we realized it was secure and the lift required access to card before it landed on a floor. Upon reaching our floor, we had to access open the common glass door. There was a tiny lounge by the door with tea and coffee vending machine and an iron board. This set up clearly showed the crucial aspects of a traveler being taken care off. I was highly impressed. The ambiance took me down my memory lanes of USA trip in New York City Apartment floors where there was a common washing machine.

As we entered our room which was interconnected with our kid’s room, kids started jumping to their excitement upon seeing their own separate room. They soon became highly possessive about it.

Both rooms were compact and good enough for just two adults. There was a separate shower cubicle, a convertible dressing room.

The room was quirky and quick. It had LCD TV, phone. We liked the room as it fits in the budget for frequent travelers who want to save money but cannot compromise on hygiene, security and good night sleep.

Service

Very courteous staff. They were pre emptive to customer’s needs and offered help before even we asked for it. They ensured the job was done instantly. Staff was kids friendly as well.

Free Wi-Fi was perfect. No complaints at all. Just loved the speed and service.

Our Experience at Hotel Formule1, Gurgaon

Room

After resting for while, we decided to have evening snacks in the Good Earth City Centre Mall. Although the hotel allowed take always and outside food etc but we wanted to have a feel of the mall. Mall was an upcoming mall with many eating joints and few lifestyle and clothing stores. Kids had a gala time at the mall playing , painting and taking joy rides.

After some time, we headed for dinner. I must say, dinner was like home made food with chapatis as bread. Dinner included one chicken dish which was awesome, one potato and onion dish and Rajmah -kid’s favourite with peas pulao and mixed veg raita. Food was delicious except some potatoes which were a little hard. I forgot the hardness due to dish’s  enticing taste.

Next morning, we had sumptuous breakfast buffet with poori sabzi, idli sambar, cornflakes, milk, curds, juices and fruits. It was filling and my taste buds were happy eating this.

It was now time to check out.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. A must stay hotel for travelers on budget stays needing security, hygiene and good food. Great concept introduced by Accor Hotels.
