When I had visited Mauritius last time, I saw Le Morne Rock a number of times. I had known about its story that how slaves got terrified from the police that they jumped from the rock out of fear. Whereas the police had gone there to inform them about the abolishment of slavery. At that time we could not do any water sports due to Hurricane.

This time, the weather was favourable for water sports and so I grabbed the opportunity to experience the speed boat till Le Morne Rock. We knew that we would get to see dolphins as well. Our trip started at 9am from SOFITEL Mauritius Imperial. I was raring to go.

Can you imagine as we went ahead, I was thrilled to experience water bumps. It was clear that sea was rough and our speed boat was sailing happily on tough waters.

Soon we reached the area and spotted…what? DOLPHINS!!!! Cool! Isn’t it? They were lovely. Dolphins were appearing from every nook and corner and hiding again.

They were playing hide and seek with us. It was a lovely experience. I had earlier witnessed dolphins in Goa as well. Waters were blue and with morning time , it made the experience all the more pleasant.

We chased dolphins with other boats for quite a time and headed to crystal rock which is a beauty in itself.

Crystal rock is full of minerals and stones that shine in sunlight. It is like a tiny island in the ocean. The shape and size and the way Crystal Rock is standing in the ocean is miraculous as per me. One should never never miss Crystal Rock when in Mauritius.

After Crystal Rock, our guides suggested that we could do snorkeling there. So, my colleagues dived in water and did snorkeling. As I didn’t know swimming at that time, I could never ever think of snorkeling in the middle of ocean although life jackets and other safety measures are there but my gut feel did not allow me to snorkel.

The place of snorkeling was near Le Morne Rock. It was an amazing site. The view was scenic. I took so many photographs there.

Overall the experience was outstanding. Mauritius visit the second time after 10 years was stupendous. I feel, every time you visit, Mauritius will give you an altogether different experience. Specially my speed boat drive till Le Morne Rock is an experience of lifetime and totally unforgettable.
