Leaning Tower of Pisa

Leaning Tower of Piss

Many of you must have heard about Leaning Tower of Pisa! The name itself generates curiosity. It’s so mysterious that we all were yearning to witness the building in person. Some one or two years back, my kids solved the Jig Saw puzzle of Leaning Tower of Pisa. When we reached the site, they instantly recognised it.

How at all, the tower leaned? Yes, this is worth searching for! From what I gathered, the Tower was initially built normally. It took some 344 years to be constructed. It’s construction began in 1173. During construction of second floor,  the tower leaned a bit as a portion of the building sunk in the soft ground.

The tower has leaned from the base itself. One side you will see the circular area surrounding the main building bigger than the other side.

The whole structure is beautiful. We didn’t see it from inside. Else, it would have consumed some 3 hours as there was a lot of rush. It seemed everyone had come to see the tower with us. There is a bell tower and a church near the Leaning Tower of Pisa. There are gardens all around. One can take beautiful photos with the Tower as the background. We took some real cool picks. It was so nice to see ourselves virtually saving the Leaning Tower of Pisa from falling.

There is a market beyond the place. I bought few purses from there. Got them at nice prices. You can bargain there.   Since the weather was nice, we loved our visit to the place. Next time I will try and see the tower from inside.

One can easily spend 1-2 hours if you are not visiting from inside and just roaming around the area.
