We spotted the movie Ghoomketu as it was written as a drama and comedy movie. We thought it to be a perfect watch for us and kids.

Story Line of Ghoomketu

Ghoomketu is a light-hearted movie starring Nawazuddin Siddique or Ghoomketu. The name Ghoomketu itself is a mysterious name as if some steroid is coming to create a big ruckus. As per the name, the character actually roams around between village and Mumbai. Ghoomketu creates a mess in the family by running away to Mumbai within ten days of getting married. His aim is to write stories for Bollywood movies. He doesn’t get any kick in his home town so wants to explore the opportunities in Mumbai. Not only he creates havoc in his family and his wife’s life but also leaves a strong impact in the Bollywood world by his dialogues which are picked up by chance by Amitabh Bachchan in one of his movies in Ghoomketu. The dialogue leaving a strong impact- किसी चीज़ की कितनी भी हिफ़ाज़त की जाए वो खो जाति है, कितने मौक़े खो जाते हैं, कितने सुराग गुम जाते हैं, जैसे मेले में बच्चे खो जाते हैं, वैसे मुंबई में अच्छे अच्छे खो जाते हैं|

I especially liked the dialogue- जब कोई चीज़ हमरे हाथ से निकल जाती है तो बड़ी तकलीफ़ होती है| Its so relatable. Be it anything! Sometimes we take things for granted and never even realize its presence until its gone. I am sure this must have happened with many people in this world.

Initially, the movie runs at a slow pace and takes speed in the latter half. I didn’t want to miss a single scene in the second half and was totally gripped by the movie.

Anurag Kashyap has aptly adorned his role of a cop. The movie looks real and is relatable to today’s life. I liked the laddoo scene especially when the cop wants his tenant to stay because of tasty laddoos.

Nawazuddin Siddique has done a commendable job in this character. Good thing is that the movie is light and ends on a positive note changing everything in Ghoomketu’s life for good. All ages of the family can watch the movie.

Why should you watch Ghoomketu?

1. Its an ok time pass movie in these Corona Lockdown times. Its a family entertainer and ends on a pleasant note.
